    1. Publication Ethics and Research Integrity

The Jordan Journal of Applied Science – Humanities Series and Natural Science Series are committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and research integrity in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and international best practices. All parties involved in the publication process—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—are expected to adhere to these ethical principles.

    Publication Ethics and Research Integrity

The journal follows COPE Core Practices in all aspects of publication. Ethical conduct is required from all stakeholders, ensuring fairness, transparency, and integrity throughout the editorial and peer-review process.

    Research Involving Humans or Animals

All research involving human participants, animals, or sensitive data must comply with applicable institutional, national, and international ethical standards. Prior approval from an appropriate ethics committee (e.g., IRB, IACUC, or equivalent) is mandatory. Authors must clearly state ethical approval details, including the approving body, approval number, and date within the manuscript.

Informed consent must be obtained from human participants, and confidentiality must be strictly maintained.

    Authorship and Contribution Criteria

The journal follows COPE authorship guidelines. Authorship must be limited to individuals who have made substantial contributions to:

    • Study conception or design

    • Data acquisition, analysis, or interpretation

    • Manuscript drafting or critical revision

All listed authors must approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission. Changes in authorship after submission must follow COPE procedures and require editorial approval.

    Plagiarism and Originality

All submitted manuscripts are subject to plagiarism screening. The journal strictly prohibits:

    • Plagiarism in any form

    • Self-plagiarism or redundant publication

    • Improper attribution of sources

Manuscripts found to violate these principles will be rejected or retracted in accordance with COPE Retraction Guidelines.

Data Fabrication, Falsification, and Image Manipulation

The journal prohibits data fabrication, falsification, and inappropriate manipulation of images or research data. Authors must ensure that all data are accurate, verifiable, and transparently reported. The journal reserves the right to request raw data for verification.

    Conflicts of Interest

All authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial, institutional, or personal conflicts of interest that could influence the research or its evaluation. Conflicts must be declared at the time of submission or review.

    Duplicate, Redundant, and Simultaneous Submission

Manuscripts must not be submitted to more than one journal simultaneously. Redundant publication or substantial overlap with previously published work is considered unethical and will be handled according to COPE guidelines.

Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools

Any use of AI-assisted technologies in manuscript preparation must be clearly disclosed. AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, and integrity of the content. AI use must comply with COPE guidance on transparency and accountability.

    Peer Review Ethics

The journal employs a double-blind peer review system. Reviewers must:

    • Maintain confidentiality of manuscripts

    • Provide objective, constructive, and unbiased evaluations

    • Declare conflicts of interest

    • Avoid using manuscript content for personal advantage

Any suspected ethical issues must be reported to the editorial office.

    Editorial Responsibilities

Editors are responsible for fair, unbiased, and timely decisions based on academic merit. Editorial decisions are independent of commercial or personal interests. Editors must ensure confidentiality and follow COPE flowcharts when handling ethical concerns.

    Retractions, Corrections, and Misconduct Handling

The journal follows COPE Retraction and Correction Guidelines. In cases of confirmed misconduct (e.g., plagiarism, data fabrication, unethical research), appropriate actions may include:

    • Request for clarification or correction

    • Retraction of the article

    • Notification of relevant institutions

    Privacy and Confidentiality

The journal respects the privacy of authors and research participants. Personal data collected during submission and review will be used solely for editorial purposes and will not be shared with third parties.
